Fort George Brewery

Tent 4

Fort George crafts original beers distributed only in the Pacific Northwest. Whether in cans or kegs, at the pub in Astoria or on your front porch, their beer brings people together in aromatic headiness and lupulin ecstasy.
Coffee Girl Stout
This stout has a bit of a fruity taste along with hints of cardamom, cream, ginger and caramel. The beans sit and age with the beer for a week, and in that time, they evolve into something spectacular. Fort George co-owner Chris Nemlowill and Zetty McKay fell in love over coffee and beer. Zetty once owned a coffee shop in Astoria called Coffee Girl and Chris worked for years as a barista. The 2017 Coffee Girl edition is dry hopped with 10 lbs. of Brasilian Santa Luzia beans from Coava Coffee Roasters. ABV: 8.6%
Vortex IPA
India Pale Ales were designed to withstand the long voyage to India. Today, it seems one has to design the IPA strong and hoppy enough to make the trip back as well. Vortex IPA is Fort George’s contribution to the IPA arms race. With generous additions of Amarillo, Simcoe and Centennial hops throughout the brewing, fermentation and conditioning phases, balanced with heaps of organic pale malt, we designed this to not rip the taste buds off your tongue, but rather vigorously stimulate them and your palate into a lupulin-ecstacy of pleasure. During the cross-country truck trip our brewery made to find its home in Astoria it was nearly scattered to the cornfields of Nebraska by a tornado. We try to capture some of nature’s intensity in every pint. The grain bed often rises over the rakes in our 30bbl mash tun while brewing up Vortex. (That's a lot of grain.) ABV: 7.7%
